Stepping - walk reflex / reaction

Holding a baby upright with the feet soles touching a solid surface and moving him forward (stimulus) elicits stepping movements (response). This reaction disappears at 6 weeks to 4 months. A newborn baby 'knows' how to walk long before he can walk independently.
