Are Hydrogen Cars The Future? We Drive BMW's Hydrogen iX5 (plus what this means for South Africa)

BMW has been experimenting with hydrogen powered cars for decades, but this is the first hydrogen fuel cell cars they've ever produced. Don't get your hopes up just yet though, BMW will only produce less than 100 of these, with the aim of gathering real world data and exposing the media and decision makers to the technology.

We travelled to Belgium for a real world drive of the hydrogen iX5, and we came away impressed with the technology and its maturity. But there is also a very positive pay off for South Africa here, in that we are well placed to produce hydrogen for the world.
