The Purpose of Compensation

Employees most likely will not be motivated to help you achieve company goals unless they feel that they are properly compensated for their performance. This course is about how pay decisions are made and what you, as a manager, need to know and do to ensure that the pay will attract, motivate, and retain employees.

It is important for you to understand some of the theories related to compensation decisions, as well as the mechanics of how these decisions are made. And, it is equally important that you understand the legal implications of the decisions you make.
