If you were asked to write down all the traits that make up a great baseball player, what would you write down?
Now, You’re probably thinking of countless character traits that would be fitting for a next level player, but in my experience, there are really 3 main buckets for success that can cover all traits.
- The first bucket is skill – you have to be skilled and constantly improving.
- The second bucket is your character – being a great teammate, being coachable, and willing to learn.
- The third bucket is your conditioning and fitness – you have to be able to withstand playing game after game.
Even though conditioning is hard and sometimes has a negative feeling about it, there are ways you and your team can make it fun.
In today’s bullpen bulletin, I’m covering the 3 different types of conditioning for youth baseball players with examples for each one, so you can get fit and have fun!
