China begins three days of military patrol around Taiwan

China is staging three days of "combat readiness" patrols around Taiwan - sending military resources towards the island to practice encircling it. Beijing, which claims Taiwan is a breakway province - staged the drills after the Taiwanese president promised to continue working with the United States and other democracies following a meeting with the speaker of the House of Representatives.
