Chincoteague Island's Pony Swim 2019

The 94th annual Pony Swim in Chincoteague, VA will be held on July 24, 2019. Every year, ponies swim from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island, and some of the foals are sold at an action. The auction helps to control the size of the herd living in Assateague and it is a fundraiser for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company. Thousands of people from around the world gather on Chincoteague Island each year to watch the annual tradition.
