Should I play The Settlers 2 in 2022?...

The Settlers is a classic series that has a TON of fans and a new Settlers game is releasing in 2022! Reviews from those playing the new game are... unfortunate... BUT long ago, I started a playthrough of The Settlers 2, one from the series that is beloved. I never finished the game and I'm wondering if I should continue the series in 2022 and actually finish it. It's been a few years though, so today, I'm replaying some missions to relearn the game and to remember what I love... and hate... about The Settlers 2.
