북한강 한 가운데에 있는 섬으로 조선시대 무인 남이장군의 묘가 있다하여 남이섬으로 불리기 시작했다.
1980년대엔 mbc '강변가요제'가 열리는 곳으로 이선희, 이상우, 이상은 등 많은 유명 가수를 배출한 곳이다. 2002년 kbs '겨울연가'의 촬영지로 드라마의 흥행으로 한류열풍을 타고 수 많은 해외 관광객이 방문하는 곳이다.
남이섬은 사유지로 지금은 '주식회사 남이섬'이라는 회사가 '나미나라 공화국 남이섬'이라는 이름으로 남이섬을 운영하고 있다. 국가 개념을 표방하는 특수 관광지로, 독자적인 외교와 문화 정책을 펼치고 전 세계 관광객들에게 아름다운 동화와 노래를 선물하는 이 세상에 유일무이한 상상공화국이라는 남이섬.
남이섬의 아름다운 자연과 동물친구들 그리고 산책길 등 섬을 직접 관광하는 느낌을 가질 수 있게 3부작 영상으로 소개합니다.
