1991 - 2009 GM 4L80E & 4L85E Transmission Fluid, Filter, & Filter Seal Replacement Maintenance

In this regularly scheduled maintenance video we will be going thru draining and replacing the automatic transmission fluid (ATF), replacing the fluid filter, and replacing the fluid filter seal on the GM 4L80E and 4L85E automatic transmissions. The fluid, filter, and seal replacement service interval on these transmissions is every 100K miles of normal service, or every 50K miles of extreme service.
The transmission illustrated is a 1998 model year version, but the procedure will be the same for any 1991 thru 2009 4L80E or 4L85E Turbo Hydra-matic transmission. The filter part numbers for 1991 thru 1996 are different however, than 1997 thru 2007. While I list both versions below, I only show the 1997 and up versions in the video.
