In this tutorial, I show you how to connect (most) digital pianos to a DAW. It's really not that complicated at all.
Most electric pianos will have some kind of 1/4" instrument cable on them which means you can use a standard guitar cable to connect it to your audio interface.
It'll work just fine. In most cases, you'll have to turn down the gain because I believe digital pianos output a line-level signal, and not an instrument-level signal.
In terms of the audio interface I'd recommend, you can pull it off with almost any sound card.
I used the iRig Pro I/O because I just got it recently, but an iRig HD 2, Scarlett 2i2, PreSonus AudioBox USB96, or pretty much any other audio interface will work just fine.
