As part of the PD Health @ Home program, our free Wellness Wednesday series focuses each week on a topic that highlights PD awareness, research or treatments.

Participants will have the opportunity to try art therapy by creating an abstract image, which will contribute to the final larger image.

Art therapy can help improve physical, psychological and social functioning in people living with Parkinson’s disease. Join this session to creatively connect with others! Just as we must adapt during these times, artmaking can help to overcome physical limitations. Participants will work together to create a mural inspired by the work of painter Chuck Close. Close creates small abstract paintings that are joined to create a larger image.

Inspiration will come from Close’s work where participants will create their own abstract drawings that will be connected on the Zoom grid to reveal a digital mural. Join us for a unique and fun Zoom experience exploring the elements of art therapy!

To participate in the activity, please bring any of the following art supplies
-    Paper
-    Colored pencils, crayons, markers, pens
-    Paint
-    Drawing supplies
-    Anything that feels creative – bring it to our Zoom event!
