Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1937, to a poor Sunni family engaged in farming in the village of Auja, near the city of Tikrit (170 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
He completed elementary school in Tikrit, Saddam's study before moving to high school in Baghdad's Karkh and resided there in that period with his uncle khayrallah Allah who influenced his ideas of nationalism and his feelings against British colonialism, was appointed by Saddam later Governor of Baghdad
