In this video I take you along with me to relish my favourite food at this 151 year old cafe in Mumbai. The Leopold cafe was established in the year 1871 and is presently owned by the Iranis and Sherezad Dastur. The restaurant was already extremely popular owing to its century old record of serving customers and foodies from all over the world. Foreigners are attracted to this place as it offers them a cozy vibe along with sumptuous meals suitable to their palate and taste buds which makes them feel at home. However Desi people need not worry as the restaurant offers customisable options and almost no one is left disappointed. The cafe has literally witnessed it all, the freedom of India, the evolution of Mumbai and the most recent, attacks of 26/11 in 2008. Bullet holes in the walls of this establishment can be seen and are proof of the havoc that ensued that fateful night when a few Pakistani citizens created one of the worst nights in the history of Mumbai. The bullet holes also depict the fighting spirit of Mumbai, to rise against all odds and to keep working. Anyways coming to design of this place, it has really amazing enthnic vibes to it. Right from the furniture, to the pillars, the posters of yesteryear music icons and a host of other interesting pieces on display. It's beautiful and cozy, that's the best way to describe it. There are multiple sections in this space depending on the need of the guests, for example there's a dedicated smoking section and an open bar on the first floor.
