The addition of salt to water, and the fact that it dissolves, means that the weight of water in a unit volume increases. This causes the density of salt water to be greater than ordinary water. It is possible to increase the density to a point where a human being canNot sink in it. This is seen to happen in the Dead Sea in Israel.
