Flooding in the Midwestern U.S.
Flooding in the Midwestern U.S. has caused a railroad bridge to collapse and a partial dam failure.
Due to days of heavy rain across the Midwest, water rushed around the Rapidan Dam on the Blue Earth River in southern Minnesota.
Authorities confirmed that the Dam faced an “imminent threat” of collapse after part of the support structure became clogged with debris.
Although severe weather led to the structural damage a previous assessment of the dam revealed it was already at risk before this week.
A family home located on the edge of a crumbling riverbank near the dam was captured falling into the river.
