I went from Kagoshima to Okinawa with my car. The Amami route between Kagoshima and Okinawa is operated by two ferry companies, ``Marue Ferry'' and ``Marix Line,'' and this time we visited the latter's ``Queen Coral Plus,'' which has only two rooms. I stayed for 1 night and 2 days in a 1st class Western-style room with a capacity of 1 person. This route passes through several islands between Kagoshima and the main island of Okinawa, including Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabujima, and Yoronjima, and the trip from Kagoshima Shinko, Kagoshima Prefecture to Motobu Port, Okinawa Prefecture takes about 23 hours one way. The round-trip fare was ¥169,610, including transportation fare for the light vehicle and the cost of using a first-class Western-style room. Although the passenger fare would not have been a big deal, I was hesitant due to the high vehicle transportation fare, but I decided to take the plunge as a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever go there again if I'm alone, but if I were to ride it again, I'd like to ride the company's new ship, the Queen Coral Cross.
