A rare look at a classic studio wrestling match featuring Superstar Bill Dundee versus Paul Ellering with Jimmy Hart, including a complete meltdown by Ellering after the bout.
The beloved Aussie, Bill Dundee, would appear to have a tough task ahead of him today against the massive Paul Ellering but he skillfully uses his legendary ring-savvy and wit to counter the big man's strength advantage and stay out of his clutches most of the time. Whenever Paul gets some offense going, Bill is quick to stop his momentum and take him down to the mat where he can be technically outmatched.
Frustrated, Ellering eventually seeks the aid of manager Jimmy Hart when Dundee hits referee Paul Morton with an errant flying cross-body press. But Sonny King suddenly runs in and extracts Hart from the studio, leaving Ellering standing with his mouth open. Distracted by Sonny's intrusion, Ellering is quickly rolled up by Dundee and schoolboy pinned.
Now Paul's livid; storming the announcer's table and grabbing the mic from Lance Russell while breathing fire. So it comes as no surprise, really, that the next few seconds of audio is missing... (Was the comment edited?) Apparently improvising at this point, Ellering goes overboard and attempts to destroy the studio but finds it a bit difficult because there isn't any prop furniture on the set today, so the table and chairs are actually kinda heavy and don't break easily--or, at all, actually. Pretty funny.
