173rd Aradhana Celebrations of St Tyagaraja | nA jIvAdhAra |Sikkil Gurucharan |Carnatic Music| Vocal

To mark the 173rd year of paying homage to Tyagaraja (1767-1847), one of the most prolific composers of South Indian Classical music, here is a rendering of his "nA jIvAdhAra", a magnificent kriti in the rAgam Bilahari and Adi thALam. Like most of his kritis, this song too employs multiple sangatis or variations in the pallavi that are quintessential to his composing style. It should also be mentioned that this kriti was popularized by Shri Lalgudi G Jayaraman (1930-2013), legendary violinist and composer, in his live concerts and album recordings.

This song was recorded LIVE at the YouTube pop-up space in Chennai in November 2019.
