Ice & Steel: The Ukrainian conflict. Chapter 1: Ukraine, from independence towards Maidan

To understand the current Ukrainian conflict, it is necessary to know the history that preceded it. During this first chapter of many we will look at the main features of Ukraine and its first two decades as an independent state.

Suriyakmaps project was born in 2017 with the aim of reporting on daily events in the Syrian civil war and the fight against ISIS in Iraq through interactive maps. During these six years the project has also covered the civil war in Yemen and Libya, the second Nagorno-Karabakh war and currently the Russian-Ukrainian war. Now in 2023 Suriyakmaps begins its expansion on youtube through video-documentaries that gather all the information from the interactive maps to give them dynamism.
