This top of the line premium SUV from VW offers everything you could want including seating for 5, luxurious amenities, modern technology, and great driving dynamics. VW has made sure to cover as much as the market as possible offering the Touareg in a handful of different flavors. The price on a new 2013 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid is $62,575.
America is keen on hybrid technology as these vehicles produce less carbon emissions and have better fuel economy. The Touareg Hybrid is somewhat an anomaly since it comes supercharged straight from the factory. The 3.0 liter V-6 engine is supercharged and paired with an electric motor giving it the "hybrid" ability. The Touareg puts out 380 horsepower and 428 lb-ft. of torque thanks to both the supercharger and electric motor working in unison. Fuel economy ratings are 20 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.
The 2013 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid styling is not too over the top rather the exterior design is rather safe. Up front the Touareg has the same signature grille found on the Jetta with some chrome accents. There is also hybrid badging to let others know you are eco-conscious. The LED headlights are easily the best part about the up-front exterior of this premium SUV. Normally with a hybrid vehicle, a lot of the cargo or trunk space is loss to the battery pack. The Touareg's batteries are nicely tucked away. On the inside of the SUV things are clean and well thought out like many other German engineered vehicles. The navigation system is top notch and the wood trim makes things much more luxurious.
The 2013 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid has tons of power, great technology, and lots of luxury amenities. But the price tag is pretty steep at well over $60k.
