Step 1
Power down your Huawei Honor 5X smartphone.
Step 2
Eject the Micro-SIM Card Tray and then the Nano-SIM Card and microSD Card Tray.
Step 3
Remove the following 2 T3 Torx screws.
Step 4
With the iSesamo opening tool carefully work around the Huawei phone to release the clips and pop the Honor 5X out of its rear enclosure.
Step 5
Use the tweezers to peel up and remove the piece of tape.
Remove the following Phillips screw and then the metal bracket.
Detach the battery connector from the Huawei Honor 5X motherboard.
Remove the following 2 Phillips screws and then the metal bracket.
Disconnect the interconnect cable.
Grab the end of the adhesive strip and try to keep the strip flat and wide. Slowly and gently pull the strip up and away from the Huawei phone.
The Honor 5X battery is held in place with additional adhesive, use the iSesamo opening tool to gently pry the lithium-ion 3000 mAh battery up and out of the Huawei phone.
Step 6
Remove the following 6 Phillips screws.
Utilizing the fine tip curved tweezers, remove the Huawei Honor 5X loudspeaker.
Detach the interconnect cable from the Micro USB daughterboard.
With the tweezers disconnect the signal cable.
Use the spudger to pry up the Huawei Honor 5X Micro USB board and remove it from the phone.
Step 7
Release the ZIF connector and carefully slide out the Huawei Honor 5X power and volume buttons cable.
Detach the Honor 5X display assembly cable from the motherboard.
With the tweezers disconnect the signal cable.
Remove the following 4 Phillips screws.
With the fine tip curved tweezers remove the tamper evident seal and then the Phillips screw.
Remove the plastic bracket.
The Honor 5X motherboard is held in place with a small amount of thermal paste. Use the spudger to carefully pry it up and out of the phone.
Step 8
With the tweezers detach and peel up the Huawei Honor 5X fingerprint sensor.
Step 9
Use the tweezers to detach the Honor 5X 13-megapixel rear-facing camera from the motherboard and easily remove it.
Step 10
Disconnect and remove the Huawei 5 Megapixel front-facing selfie camera.
Step 11
Utilizing the tweezers carefully pry the earpiece speaker up and out of the frame.
Step 12
Remove the vibrator.
Step 13
With the tweezers, carefully peel the Huawei Honor 5X power and volume buttons cable away from the frame.
Step 14
Remove the two rubber grommets and signal cable from the Honor 5X frame.
Peel up the display assembly cable.
Use the heat gun to warm up the adhesive securing the Honor 5X display assembly to the frame.
With the precision knife create enough space between the Huawei screen and frame to slide in a playing card.
Use the playing cards to slice through the adhesive and carefully separate the screen from the frame. Apply additional heat as needed.
