(Try to fast at least 1 of last 3 days of Shabaan and gift it as Hadiya to the 12th Imam (as). One day of fast for the pleasure of the Imam (as) do you not owe him that much, if you are a Sunni then even though you may not believ in his (as) presence you still await him (as) to bring Justice so dedicate one to the one you await per your own interpretation of his (as) personality. Destroy the barriers between you and Imam Mahdi (as).
Imam Ali (as) says 'between the preaching and you there is a curtain of deception' Nahjul Balagha), if I said those words then blame me but they are the pure words of a pure infallible imam(as). see Sajjad liyeh mushkil noha in other videos)...the Murtaza Lakha Muharram Special points dangers of becoming cultural Shia because you have been fooled by the lingo or the symbols in wrong hands and not understood the essence : Imam Hussain (as) and what he was trying to teach you regards your responsibility to reform society. They even have the cheek to think they are being Hussain like by being there and that is what our Imam (ajf) would want. (they are not one or two but a new movement of 'sheep' within us). Shocking is the timing and the manner, and the beaming of collective smiles into every household in the name of the holy household(as), when we should be the flag bearers of sorrow. Shocking and it was 'legalised' by the role model Syed who wanted to set an example. Let me remind you...
On the 12th Muharram, a battered and bruised Sakina was tied to the back of a camel so she would not fall off, her hair was bedraggled and her glance was traumatised. Zainab (as) and Imam Sajjad (as) heart wept but they were humanely 'helpless'.
Zainabs hands, the same hands that had that were embraced by her mother when she was a child and then nursed her mother, when she was beaten (because Muslims of Medina had become cultural) were now bruised and stained with the blood of Hussain, Aon, Mohammed Qasim and her reason for living Ali Akbar. They were not only bruised but they were tied behind her meaning there was no way to reach out to comfort Sakina. The names of those whose blood stained the hands of Zainab (as) Hussain, Ali Akbar, Aon, Muhammed, Qasim. Each name , Each martyr had a very real living history which was well known to Zainab (as) . Their memories were etched on Zainabs heart and the head of Ali Asghar on the lance that goaded Rabaab was still in sight. (per the words of syed Mustapha Allah 'wanted Zainab paraded' and 'orchestrated the whole event period' Mazallah. when we have people like this within us who neeeds enemies). Zainab thought deep thoughts that day and the flame within her swore they would never be forgotten. So her glance returned to Sakina and Said 'Fear not my child for we live for a higher cause for we are the daughters of Haider and When I arise and bare witness the world will be shaken and your flame alone will set the world free. However, to some (including role model syeds) cultural people it was a distant memory as they ate their cake where the poor could not afford to come on the 12th Muharram, To them perhaps this is what it meant to be Hussain like. They did not think twice about attending , may be the $150 fee was the reason, but I would say no, not so at all rather they genuinely thought and have over the years been fooled into thinking that by being there they were being 'Hussain Like'.
Yet within you, you as weak anad as flawed as you may be, have the power to break free, not be a cultural Hussaini, but a real Hussaini and stop this slippery slide. The doors of a repentence based on resolve are open.
The religion of Hussain is not a personal one (Like Christianity confined to the home) but a revolutionary one, which means freedom for all, even if you become ashes in the candle of Hussain. Where you in the spirit of Hussain are a catalyst to revolutionise your society. New schools of thought will come and go, trying to dampen the fire of Hussain within you, but the Hussaini's that know their Markaz is Hussain and not the turban will never be fooled. Everything that has come up against Hussain(as) has persihed and so will it remain.
