This is sometimes called a french braid, but it's actually an inverted french braid... or a dutch braid. You may know this as cornrows, but where I'm from Cornrows is when several of these braids are present in a row. Potato, Po-tah-to. In the media lately they've been calling it a Kim Kardashian inspired braid or a boxer braid... It made it onto the catwalk under all kinds of different names and the hairstyle has even been sported by Ariana Grande and Adriana Lima.
But whatever you want to call it, it's how I (and many cultures) have been braiding hair for years! It's a great protective style whilst the braids are in, and the braid out afterwards is beautiful! This technique always worked for me, I hope I explained it well enough. If you want me to explain it more just ask and I'll be happy to help :) The products I used are listed below:
1. Water
2. Oil (I used Jojoba Oil)
3. ORS Smooth n Hold styling pudding - http://go.magik.ly/ml/lh1/
4. Tangle Teezer - http://go.magik.ly/ml/2xoh/
and that's it!
