In this video, I'll be demonstrating several Siemens fire alarm signals. With the exception of the ZR-series horn/strobe, most of these signals were manufactured by Faraday, which the German conglomerate acquired through its buyout of Cerberus Pyrotronics in 1998. Faraday was a company known primarily for their electromechanical horns, bells, and chimes, but which also produced control panels and manual pull stations. They stopped manufacturing signals in 2008 as the result of a lawsuit against Siemens by Wheelock, but Siemens continued to produce control panels and other devices under the Faraday name until they discontinued the label in 2015. Today, Siemens still produces their own control panels, detectors, and pull stations. However, their notification appliances are now produced by Wheelock, as will be explained in a bit more detail in the section about the ZR-MC-R.
