The Transcontinental Railroad was completed
The Transcontinental Railroad was completed in May of 1869, linking the United States with a rail network that reached from ocean to ocean. Over 150 years later, the route still serves as a critical link in the national freight rail network. In this video, we will explore the modern day rail line that was built by the Union Pacific Railroad. Beginning in Cheyenne, Wyoming, we will travel west all the way across the state to see present day freight trains passing by. Video clips were filed in May of 2019 and October of 2016.
