Beauty is, in fact, in the “eyes of the beholder,” meaning that everyone thinks different things are beautiful. However, there is a great deal of stuff that we can all collectively agree are either beautiful or ugly, here are 21 Of The Ugliest Creatures On The Planet. Judge for yourself.
#10 - The Sea Pig
Scotoplanes, also known as sea pigs are just another ugly monstrosity that comes from the deep blue sea. The alien looking creature pictured here is actually a type of sea cucumber, not a thing from another planet. These crazy looking animals can be found in all of the oceans around the world in the darkest and deepest parts. The weirdest thing about these things is how they walk which is on five to seven pairs of enlarged tube feet.
#9 - The Hooded Seal
Seals, normally, are adorable animals. For some of us, they are our favorite animals out of the entire kingdom. The seal you see in this picture, however, is not one of the ones named favorite. As you can see, the seal here looks like it has a really bad blister or huge clear zit on the side of its face, and that’s never attractive. When inflated, the balloon looks unsightly and strange, but when it isn’t, you can hardly tell the difference. That’s what makes the seal in the back of this picture look like it's laughing at the strange animal even though they are the same species.
#8 - The Elephant Shrew
The little rodent pictured here looks like the creepy parts of a rat got together with the scary bill of a bird and called it an elephant shrew. This insane looking creature can hop three feet straight into the air which is how it earned its nickname of the “jumping shrew.” The elephant shrew may only dine on insects, but we would be terrified if a horde of these ugly things started jumping towards us.
#7 - The Pig Nosed Turtle
This is another turtle that earned its way into this video simply for being extremely ugly. The ugly pig shaped nose you see the turtle in this photo sporting is an adaptation that acts just like a snorkel. This species of turtle is native to places like New Guinea and parts of northern Australia and they are nothing less than weird.
#6 - The Bald Uakari
There are several species of monkeys that are just flat out ugly to look at but the bald uakari pictured here just about takes the cake. Unlike most monkeys, the bald uakari has a very short tail and it relies on its arms and legs to swing through the trees. These ugly red-faced creatures only live in one place in the world, so if you don’t want to run into that ugly mug, just avoid the Amazon River basin at all costs.

You could create an entire movie filled with sea creatures that are uglier than sin, but no one has time for that. So, to quench your ugly sea animal thirst, here is the northern stargazer, a fish you would not want to step on. The fish in this picture looks so miserable is a wonder they’re even still alive at all. When they aren’t out busy looking grumpy, you can find them buried in the sand, waiting to ambush their next meal.

The Mata Mata turtle is a freshwater turtle that is found in South America. The ugly turtle in this picture is truly unique not just because it is covered in knobby ugliness but because it is the only existing species left in the genus Chelus. That makes it special, but no less ugly, that’s for sure.

The strange creature pictured here looks like a whoopie cushion left out in the weather, but this is actually a picture of a rather ugly frog. It is called the purple frog and it is found in India. The sensitive snout helps the frog suck up termites. When it isn’t eating, this ugly guy is living up to 13 feet underneath the ground in a burrow it created.

No, this isn’t your old grandma with lipstick on, nor is the fish in this picture Photoshopped. This is the red-lipped batfish and it looks absolutely bizarre. It is often found in the waters off the coast of Peru as well as around the Galapagos Islands. There isn’t a specific reason for this fish to look the way it does, it’s just ugly. It looks mad about it too, just look at that face.

When in its natural habitat, the fish looks just like any other fish just swimming around. However, since there is such a drastic difference in pressure, the blobfish ends up looking like the one in this picture when it’s brought to the surface.
