After a couple of accidents
After a couple of accidents and failures I finally succeed in producing some sodium by the alcohol catalysed magnesium reduction method, that was first shown by Nurd Rage in this Video:

The trick was to use the purest magnesium possible. I also made a couple of mistakes in this video.
1. I didn't grind the magnesium fine enough, so it was too hard to stir
2. I failed weighing the proper amount of NaOH
3. I overheated the reaction mixture.
In the next video about this I hopefully have all these mistakes fixed, so I get a proper yield of 90 % +.
