In this video, I explain what you can do as a student midwife on labour ward, the situations you may see, the clinical skills that will be needed, and what typical days on labour ward would look like.
I also show you some examples of documentation used on the labour ward such as observation charts, fluid balance charts and partograms.

As I explained, I will be making a video soon discussing instrumental deliveries, c-sections and the birth centre/midwifery-led unit.
If you would be interested in me doing a video discussing anything in more detail then let me know, because I didn't want to make this video too big by explaining what everything is and why we do it, but I know if I would have watched this as an aspiring student midwife, I would have lots of questions!
