Muğla is the capital of
Muğla is the capital of the Muğla province of Turkey. It's also a very old city with a historical center. This is the part I had never seen. Time to go check it out.
In ancient times, Muğla was apparently a minor settlement: A halfway-point along the passage between the Carian cities to the north and the coast. Nowadays it's a huge university city.
But the city retains its old neighborhoods, they were not lost to the mid-20th century boom in concrete building.
