The sick genius is a
The sick genius is a common trope in Shonen Anime. It's no different in the Naruto series. The two most prominent uses of this trope are Itachi and Kimimaro. Two extremely gifted individuals that have an unidentified terminal illness. This illness is important for the Kimimaro vs Rock Lee, Gaara vs Kimimaro, and Sasuke vs Itachi fights.
I'm not a fan of this trope. But like every trope, it can be done poorly, and it can be done well. In Naruto this trope is a mixed bag. Let's analyze sick Itachi and sick Kimimaro and determine if the sick trope was used appropirately with the two characters.
