First up in the get to know you games, we have a game called Finding Bonds.
This is an identity game focused on helping people find common bonds. Everyone will take a turn making an “I am a…” statement. For example they might say “I am a mother” or “I am a runner” or “I am an amateur chef.” Players who identify with the statement that was made should move closer to the person who made that statement. To start off the game, everyone should be spread out evenly across the room, and as statements are made, players will move nearer to those who they identify with.

Next up is a Group Art Project.
This is a good way to be more active and collaborative. You can try coordinating a group art project such as a mosaic for the group. This is a great activity for people who are more introverted or a bit less chatty. First, provide everyone with a workspace and the proper materials. Choose different mediums such as paper, paint, magazines, glass pieces, or even computer graphics that you’ve printed. Then assign some guidelines such as “draw a team mascot” or “come up with a goal for your team.” Then set a timer and let everyone create their art! You can do this in one large group, or split people into smaller groups. If you choose the smaller groups, make sure you’ve got enough time for everyone to present their pieces to the other groups.

Third is the “Speed Dating” Icebreaker.
In this game, you’ll want to facilitate a series of rapid conversations with everyone at the same time. To start, have everyone sit in a pair with someone they don’t know very well or don’t work with directly. Then set a timer, for say 3 minutes or so. When the timer goes off, have one person in the pair move to the next person. It’s usually easiest to do this in the same direction, for example having everyone move to the right each round. This is a really great way to get people out of their comfort zone and share with folks that aren't in their usual circle.

Next in the get to know you games is Keychain Sharing.
Sometimes bringing a physical object into play can add a new and more personal element to getting to know each other. To start, have everyone sit in a circle and place their keyring in front of them. Then have everyone take turns explaining what keys are on their ring and why. Folks can also explain what keychains they have and why they're meaningful to them. Go around the group in a circle either clockwise or counter-clockwise and make sure everyone has a chance to share without being interrupted. If you want to take this a step further, go around the circle again and have everyone share one insight they learned from learning about each others’ keys.

The last group activity is a Group Map.
If you’re hosting a large event where people may have come from different locations, lay out an imaginary map on the floor representing all the areas that people may have come from. Then have everyone stand where they've come from and share a little bit about that place. You could also print out a very large map and have people place pins where they've come from.

And that's that! “Get to know you” games are a great way to start your team meeting, or company offsite. Try one, or even all five of them and then let me know in the comments below what feedback you received from your workmates.
