What is DSD (Direct Stream
What is DSD (Direct Stream Digital) audio format. Watch easy explanations how DSD works, what is better DSD vs PCM, audio file formats, other.

Some people prefer DSD audio, because they hear, that this format give better sound quality. Other people are hears, that PCM is better. Why it so? Who is wrong?
We can thinks that DSD audio have huge sample rate and better sound quality, than PCM. And,thus, DSD is closer to analog, than PCM audio. Despite smallest 1 bit resolution.
But, actually, 1 bit is too small bit depth for audiophile applications. 1 bit cause high audible noise level, even for DSD64, DSD128, DSD256,... sample rates. To provide proper noise level for high resolution recordings, DSD audio devices and software uses noise shaping technology.
