Backstage is an open platform for building developer portals. After releasing the alpha of the Backstage Service Catalog (one of the most requested features), the team at Spotify reached out to the community for questions and feedback.

The Backstage Service Catalog is a centralized system that keeps track of ownership and metadata for all the software in your ecosystem — services, websites, libraries, data pipelines, and more. It enables one team to manage ten services and a company to manage thousands of them.
