Piano Prelude 5 by Fiona Brice

During the first lockdown in Spring 2020 I spent my time at home writing ten piano preludes. They are dedicated to Richard Holloway, my piano teacher at NMPAT (Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust) when I was a teenager. He introduced me to the piano music of Debussy, Ravel, Bartok and Lennox Berkeley, all of whom have influenced my writing in one way or another.
Apart from writing, the most memorable thing about this strange period was the daily walk. I would go out for miles, sometimes for hours at a time, the only travel permitted.    Thanks to Ed Harcourt for making this video with me, which captures the strangeness of that time.
