Bananas & Plantains, how to grow & use with Wade Bauer 5 min. mini-class, full class Saturday

Class will cover different propagation techniques, pest & disease management, thinning, mulching, fertilizing, cooking & recipes, & storage & preservation techniques. Bananas cooked green are like a potato, starchy and not sweet, a great easy to grow long lived "tree potato". Note, at 3 min in the video when I mentioned "nematodes" I meant to say "corm weevil" or "corm borer." Inspect corm and root ball well for damage and to ensure that the new start is free from corm borer. Starting with healthy plant material is crucial. make sure you are familiar with banana bunchy top virus before digging or transporting any banana starts!
