Thessaly Test (for Meniscus Tears)

Thessaly’s test is used to evaluate for meniscus tears. The patient is standing on the affected leg with knee flexed about 5 to 20 degrees. The patient may need to hold onto the examiner or table for stability. The patient then internally and externally rotates their knee 3 or 4 times. A positive test is pain.
