Quadrajet Carburetor Professional Rebuild

The Electronic Quadrajet 1708 on
The Electronic Quadrajet 1708 on my 1981 C3 Corvette is not working optimally, even though it is a new direct-replacement unit.
The issue with Quadrajets is that they were calibrated at the factory for each particular application. In other words, a 1708 carburetor for a pickup truck would be quite different than one intended for a Corvette.
And while an aftermarket unit will work ok, it won't necessarily work perfectly. And that's why I am an advocate of rebuilding original equipment, especially carburetors.
Now I've never worked on one of these, and from my research, I learned that you need specialized tools to get them calibrated right.
Those tools are available but they're not cheap. Plus, I would also need a complete rebuild kit and who knows what else.
So at that point, it made more sense to let professionals turn the old and tired 1708 into a better-than-new carburetor.
All American Carburetors in Orange Park, Florida (next door to Jacksonville), has been in the carburetor remanufacturing business for a couple of decades.
They can not only rebuild pretty much any carburetor, but they also do the proper polishing, plating, and more to get an old carb looking like it was just manufactured.
They do restorations for award-winning NCRS and Bloomington Gold Corvettes, among many others.
