Welcome to the Minigaig Pass! A 45km trail through the Scottish Highlands, linking Blair Atholl and Kingussie via an old and abandoned drovers route. I came for the Scottish Wilderness, and after a cosy night in the Allt Scheicheachan Bothy, a wild camp that didn't go to plan and the most beautiful nature I got more than that: this little adventure was a treat for the heart, the soul and the mind. When life feels heavy sometimes, an escape into the wild is what I long for. And so that's exactly what I did. I hope this video inspires you to grab your own boots and open the door to the outside world, because let me tell you: this beautiful earth of ours does wonders for the spirit. Also: I think I've slowly found my voice in front of the camera compared to my first videos (including the ones I didn't publish;) and I hope that my true personality will always shine through :) The Minigaig Pass in Scotland was created in the 16th century and was used as a main trade route for travellers and cattle drovers alike. After the Jacobite rising of 1715, General Wade decided to built a new military road via the Drumochter Pass instead of improving the existing one, as his military road network always focused on the shortest routes between forts, and thus, the Minigaig pass has become neglected. Today, it is acquired by both mountain-bikers and walkers, and it's not hard to see why. If you want to read more about the pass and the trail I wholeheartedly recommend this online article: https://jamescarron.wordpress.com/features/walking-the-minigaig-road/ Thank you so much for watching!
