1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S Test Drive

It was no surprise that when this 1-year only Turbo S was put in the hands of journalists and pro drivers on its launch, they all fell in love with the performance capabilities.  Some of the top car magazines showed it lapping quicker than a 930 on head to head comparisons.


However, they carried a hefty price tag when new...they were nearly $50k in 1988 for a 4-cylinder Porsche.  


As a result, only a handful were delivered to the U.S. and a fraction of those numbers survived in stock condition.
