This is the first of several episodes showing me going through all the assembly steps necessary to build a high horsepower small block chevy engine capable of keeping up in the ultra competitive Crate Racin USA Street Stock class. I am showing step by step how measure to insure my crank shaft has correct main bearing clearance and then showing the process of determining the cut needed to achieve zero decking. Reaching the prefect quench while making sure you get the most compression possible is no easy task and although these steps are tedious, they are very necessary when you are trying to get the most horsepower possible in a flat top engine build.
