Women's Volleyball Tournament between the National Teams of Poland and the Dominican Republic (To Strengthen Preparations for the Paris Olympics) - Game 1
Held on the occasion of the "Agata Mróz-Olszewska Memorial 2024".
In about 1 week we will start the Olympics in Paris, where the volleyball players, assigned Poland, will take part.
In the last few weeks we have learned about the Olympic tournament groups.
Agata Mróz-Olszewska Memorial is a friendly tournament dedicated to the memory of the Polish national volleyball player, two-time European champion (2003, 2005), who died in 2008. The first edition was held in 2009. In most editions, club teams competed in inside. The previous anniversary held in 2023 was won by ŁKS Commercecon Łódź.
Stefano Lavarini's team started with... 3:0 in the first set, and then consistently built a lead. Their opponents were regularly repelled by effective serving. At one point, coach Lavarini, seeing the clear superiority of his players, decided on an interesting maneuver. She allowed nominal libero Maria Stenzel to enter the field as a full player. Interestingly, this is the return of this volleyball player to the team after a break of several months. The maneuver was successful - Stenzel received several balls well in the second row and a moment later left the field. On the other hand, the Polish team confidently aimed for the set victory which ultimately ended in a 25:18 win.
