Case Study Research

Case study research is an investigation and analysis of a single or collective case, intended to capture the complexity of the object of study. A case study is a detailed study of a specific subject, such as a person, group, place, event, organization, or phenomenon. Case studies are commonly used in social, architectural, educational, clinical, and business research.

A case study research design usually involves qualitative methods, but quantitative methods are sometimes also used. Case studies are good for describing, comparing, evaluating, and understanding different aspects of a research problem. The aim of this presentation is to make you able to understand what is case study research, what are the different types of case studies, and the differences with other research strategies, and for what purpose it is used.
