Catfishing Bowersock Dam Island - Lawrence Kansas River

We decided to drop our boat in at Bowersock Dam in Lawrence Kansas.  We have seen several boats fish off of the island in the middle and we wanted to pull the boat onto the island and fish off of it... What we didn't expect when we got to the boat ramp was a sign saying they lock the gates at a certain time.  Fishing the Kansas River, we haven't seen any time restrictions on any areas until now.  We had a little over an hour to fish and had a pretty good trip besides the occasional gar bite.
