How to Disassemble a Bar Stool

Learn how to disassemble a typical gas lift bar stool. Using just a hammer or a mallet and a screwdriver, take apart your bar stool in just five simple steps. Depress your stool to its lowest height using the gas lift handle. 3. Undo the screws and remove the seat. 4. Turn your stool over, grip the column below the base, and tap the column’s end with a rubber mallet, making sure you don’t hit the black clip. If the column does not slide out, spray some WD40 into either side of the joint. 5. Now the base is removed, turn the stool over. Use a mallet and flat-headed screwdriver to lightly hit the rim around the gas lift button. This should cause the footrest column to come off.
