More than 120 people have
More than 120 people have been killed in a stampede at Ratibhanpur in UP's Hathras. The death toll is expected to rise, with many women, elderly, and children among the deceased and seriously injured. A large crowd had gathered to listen to Saint Bhole Baba's sermon when oppressive heat and humidity inside the pandal triggered the stampede. Local residents rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, including those in Etah.
A team consisting of ADG Agra and Aligarh Commissioner has been formed to investigate the cause of the incident. U.P. government ministers Lakshmi Narayan and Sandeep Singh have left for Hathras to oversee relief operations. The Chief Secretary and DGP will also be present on the spot. UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced on social media platform 'X' that an FIR will be filed against the organizers of the event.
