Soya Chilli Manchurian is a tasty, protein rich Chinese recipe which tastes great as a starter or snack. This dish is a favourite among both adults and kids.

* Approx. preparation and cooking time: 40 mins
* Serves 3 persons

* List of ingredients:
1. Soya chunks - 1 large bowl
2. Chopped onion - 1 cup
3. Chopped spring onion - 1 cup
4. Cut capsicum - 1 cup
5. Chopped green chillies - 1 small cup
6. Lemon - Half
7. Chopped coriander leaves - 1 cup
8. Corn flour - 2 tablespoons
9. Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
10. Green chilli paste - 1 tablespoon
11. Tomato ketchup - 1 teaspoon
12. Ginger-garlic paste - 2 teaspoons
13. Salt - 2 tablespoons
14. Oil for frying

* Method of preparation (Dry Soya Chilli Manchurian):
1. Take a large wok/frying pan, add 2 glasses water and bring it to a boil. Then, add 1 large bowl soya chunks, 1 teaspoon each ginger-garlic paste, salt, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, half cup chopped onion, chopped green chillies and cook on medium flame until the chunks are well cooked and all the water is drained.
2. Transfer the cooked chunks into a large bowl, add some chopped green chillies, spring onions, coriander leaves and squeeze the juice of half a lemon.
3. Next, add 2 tablespoons corn flour and mix well to ensure the soya chunks are well coated with the flour. Also, add 1/4th teaspoon salt and mix.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the flour coated soya chunks until they turn crispy (fry on high flame only). Once done, transfer onto a large plate.
5. In a large wok/frying pan, add 2 tablespoons oil and turn on the heat to medium flame.
6. Now, add half cup chopped onion and fry until they turn translucent.
7. Next, add cut capsicum and continue frying on medium flame. Then, add the fried soya chunks.
8. Add 1 tablespoon each soy sauce, green chilli paste, 1 teaspoon tomato ketchup and continue frying for a minute or so.
9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, spring onion.
10. Enjoy tasty Soya Chilli Manchurian with tomato sauce.

* Method of preparation (Soya Chilli Machurian with Gravy):
1. To prepare the gravy, add 1 glass water into the pan with the fried soya chunks.
2. Take a small bowl, add 1 tablespoon corn flour, add some water to prepare the corn slurry.
3. Add the corn slurry into the pan with the water and cook for a couple of minutes until the water becomes thicker and resembles the consistency of gravy. Then, turn off the heat.
4. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and spring onion.
5. Enjoy soya chilli manchurian as a snack or starter.
