Episode 100: The Marx #666 2-4-2 steam locomotive was a common part of many Marx train sets made between the mid-1950s and the end of Marx production in 1974. The 666 features a diecast shell, smoke, and a working headlight. My #666 was an auction purchase and the description stated there were problems with the headlight, reverse unit, and smoke. Therefore, I disassembled the locomotive to inspect and repair these items as necessary. In the process, I replaced the original bulb with an inexpensive LED. 00:00 Introduction 01:06 Poll "What Is A Marx?" 01:51 History of the Marx 666, 333 and 999 02:41 Comparing #666 With #1666 Shells 03:09 First Test Run 03:51 Testing the Smoke Unit 05:21 Removing the Smokebox Front (Headlight Access) 06:07 The Marx Headlight Bracket 07:54 Inexpensive LED Replacement Bulbs [GutReise 10 pc.
