[Competition rules]
● Sport stacking is a sport in which multiple plastic cups are stacked or broken into a fixed mold to compete for speed in 1/1000 second units.
● The rules for competition are well established, regardless of age, physical strength, or gender.
● Originated from children playing with paper cups in Southern California, USA around 1985.
● Introduced as a cup stacking in the TV program "The Tonight Show" in 1990, and attracted attention.
● Bob Fox, who was an elementary school teacher in Colorado, feels the educational effect of sports and introduces it to his students.
After its spread to Texas, Bob retired as a teacher in 1998 and founded WSSA (World Sport Stacking Association) Speedstacks, dedicated to dissemination and promotion. In Japan, Bob's younger brother, John Foxx, founded Speed Stacks Japan in 2005.
● Sport stacking is spreading all over the world, and the world competition is being held as an official sports competition sponsored by WSSA.
● It has been adopted in school lessons and rehabilitation of the elderly in many countries as it promotes cooperation by training hands, reflexes and concentration, and competing in teams.
