Born on June 1, 1937 in Memphis Tennessee, Morgan Freeman became a series regular on the PBS show The Electric Company. At 50-years-old, Freeman rose to fame when he was cast in the 1987 film Street Smart, for which he earned his first Academy Award nomination. Two years later, he earned his second Oscar nomination for Driving Miss Daisy. He went on to appear in films such as Glory, Lean On Me, Robin Hood, Unforgiven, and The Shawkshank Redemption, for which he received his third Oscar nomination. In 2004, Freeman won his first Academy Award for Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby.
