Since November 22nd, 2021 it is possible to apply for a visa for Thailand online via the Thailand e-visa system. This saves a lot of time and journeys to the royal Thai consulates in Germany. You can also do without the application by post, as the e-Visa does not have to be stuck in the passport.
Applying for the Thailand e-Visa is a tough job. A large number of documents in the correct format have to be prepared in advance and then uploaded. Problems arose when registering for the e-Visa system, due to your own e-mail address.
However, we were able to fix the error and continue with the registration for the Thailand E-Visa. So after we clicked the link in the confirmation of registration, we were able to log into the e-Visa system and enter all the requested data for the tourist visa (TR visa).
The passport and the passport photo should only be uploaded as JPG or JPEG files. All other documents can be uploaded as PDF. Basically, entering all data and uploading the documents to the E-Visa system works flawlessly. The only hurdle you have to overcome is the number of many documents you have to provide here.
All in all, this system works very well! In the end, we were even able to apply for several e-visas and also very easily keep track of things. The application is completed by paying for the e-Visa. After that, it takes about 7 days to receive your visa for Thailand by email for printing.

However, we were able to fix the error and continue with the registration for the Thailand E-Visa. So after we clicked the link in the confirmation of registration, we were able to log into the e-Visa system and enter all the requested data for the tourist visa (TR visa).
The passport and the passport photo should only be uploaded as JPG or JPEG files. All other documents can be uploaded as PDF. Basically, entering all data and uploading the documents to the E-Visa system works flawlessly. The only hurdle you have to overcome is the number of many documents you have to provide here.
All in all, this system works very well! In the end, we were even able to apply for several e-visas and also very easily keep track of things. The application is completed by paying for the e-Visa. After that, it takes about 7 days to receive your visa for Thailand by email for printing.
